Romeo and Juliet 

For my major project, I redesign the book, ‘Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, connecting everyday life in a historical context.
Keeping the original text, I visually represented the conflicts
(emotional, family, physical) and the repercussions they have on society,
in a contemporary scenario.

The book contains a scenario full of political, social and cultural barriers;
I mainly focused on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the problem of discrimination, arranged/forced marriages and women's rights.

This book aims to bring young people closer to the great classics, to learn from them and be inspired by the past.

To guide and facilitate readers’ understanding, I decided to typographically highlight the most important concepts using the modern English language, and a brief introduction is inserted at the beginning of each act.
